Jambalaya: The Musical is a rollicking, fun romp through the Cajun lands of Louisiana where people live as colorfully as a sunset over the bayou. As we descend onto this small town right before Mardi Gras, we come across families and friends who are preparing for this raucous holiday and dealing with their own problems all to the tune of fantastic music and well-choreographed dances. T, short for Thibadeaux, is just a small town guy trying to make it big in the music business by branding himself as a soulful Cajun singer, but he feels that the slick Nashville music executive is just messing with his dreams. T has a massive crush on Danielle whose family is having money troubles, so she decides to take a job at the local cafe. She reveals that she’s so into T, but doesn’t think that he really likes her. But there’s hope in the form of Boudreaux, T’s grandfather and our guide through this lovely narrative. Everything gets solved on Mardi Gras day, and life rolls on in a beautiful way.
It would be a fantastic event to bring any out-of-towners to so that they can be introduced to customs of Cajun and Creole culture. You can learn more about the show here, and laissez les bon temps roule!
