Sac a Lait was the proud host of a deer and beer-paired dinner on this December evening. The staff even went so far as to wear camo clothes to give us the full hunting experience. This immaculate six-course dinner was paired with varietals of Urban South Beer; the brewery is located mere blocks away from the Warehouse District eatery. The first course of gourmet Whitetail Poppers was complimented well with Urban South’s popular Charming Wit. It was followed by Fried Deer Bologna Sandwich bites with purple sweet potato chips and a seasonal pilsner. My favorite course was the Venison and Tuna Tartare and Holy Roller IPA. But we also enjoyed the Neckbone Ramen with Satsuma Wit cocktail, the Backstrap Tonkatsu and Rectify Coffee Porter, and, of course, Smores Of Course with a truly amazing Coconut Porter (I need to get more of that). I can’t wait to eat more deer soon, which is something I never thought that I would say.
