On the Stage: Dr. Suess’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas

I was raised to think of Christmas as the most happy time of year, and Christmas Eve is the most exciting night you’ll ever experience. While my opinions may differ from that in reality, there’s nothing more comforting than curling up on the couch with some hot chocolate (and liqueur) to watch those old Christmas movies that are so near and dear to my heart. One of them being Dr. Suess’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I enjoy the original cartoon version and the Jim Carrey version.

Obviously, this show looks like the live-action version directed by Ron Howard, but it differs from the storyline in many ways. Actually, is uses more of the original storyline than the film did, but uses the acting style and visuals of the film. Take that as you will.

I enjoyed this take on a Christmas show, and I really enjoyed the sing-along part of “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.” If you’re in the Christmas mood whenever this show comes to town, I highly recommend giving it a try.
